Meet: Dr. Amy Turner

Dr. Amy Turner has been recognized as one of the Triangle’s Top Dentists every year since 2010 by Chapel Hill and Durham magazines. Known for her gentle manner and compassionate care, she is dedicated to creating positive experiences for every patient — especially those who feel anxious about dental visits. She takes time to thoroughly explain treatment options and build lasting relationships. Dr. Turner proudly provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, supporting the oral health of the entire family.

Born in Raleigh and raised in Banner Elk, Dr. Turner is proud to call North Carolina home. She earned both her undergraduate degree in Biology and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Throughout her academic career, she was recognized with numerous honors, including Phi Beta Kappa, Golden Key, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, Dean’s List distinction, and the Robert E. Tormey, Jr. Scholarship Award.

During dental school, Dr. Turner spent a month in Mexico serving the orphanage Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos in Miacatlán. She also served as a Student Health Action Coalition (SHAC) Coordinator, helping provide free dental services to members of the community through the SHAC clinic.
Dr. Turner is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society and the American Dental Association. She is proud to work each year with TROSA, helping improve the oral health of residents as they work toward rebuilding their lives.
Dr. Turner lives in Durham with her two children. Outside of the office, she enjoys cooking, rock climbing, traveling, walking her dog Miko, and spending time with her family.
